A Mathematical Model of Regional Socio-Economic Development of Palestine

Title: A Mathematical Model of Regional Socio-Economic Development of Palestine
Authors: Haj Ali, Nour
Abstract: In this study, we describe the socio-economic development in Palestine. Mathematical modeling is used as a tool to explain the main factors that e§ect on the
development of Palestine economy. We use two mathematical models to perform the
study. The Örst model is in three dimension and the second model is an extension
to the Örst model and is in four dimensions. The suggested models are constructed
from a set of non-linear continuous di§erential equations which introduce the main
study variables (population, jobs, energy and occupation) and coe¢ cients (control
vector) that is joint between the two models. At each stage, the proposed models
are analyzed mathematically by Önding general and numerical Öxed points. The
stability is examined by analyzing Jacobian matrix and the eigenvalues. We clarify
the type of bifurcation, direction Öeld diagrams, the numerical solution and the
behavior of the system during time. In addition, MATLAB program is used to
Önd solutions and to demonestrate the results graphically and numerically. On the
other hand, Newton method is used to obtain di§erent values for the basic variables in each stage through some values and observations to give an impression for
a progress and improvement in the Öeld of regional economic and social development. Moreover, the value of coe¢ cients are computed based on Palestinian Central
Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) by using percentage rate method (growth rate for values). Furthermore, the study cover the occupation period by choosing di§erent base
and comparison years for each parameter. The results of numerical simulation and
analysis verify the system is chaotic with unstable Öxed points.

Mathematical Modeling of the Global Positioning System GPS

Title: Mathematical Modeling of the Global Positioning System GPS
Authors: Awwad, Diaa
Abstract: The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a space-based radio navigation system that provides consistent positioning, navigation and
timing services to users on a continuous worldwide basis. The objective of this thesis research is to give the readers a working familiarity
with both the basic theoretical and practical aspects of how the GPS
works. In this research, we have addressed the most important issues related to GPS, such as the transmission of information through
it, the mechanism used by GPS receiver to determine our position
depending on satellite information, we also studied the factors that
led to errors in determining the location. This thesis is divided into
5 sections. First, it introduces a condensed GPS program history,
the main components of a GPS receiver (hardware) and some useful
applications for the GPS. Second, the nature of the signal, the transmission of the signal, and the mechanisms involved in its transmission
are discussed. It also shows how the receiver obtains the signal with
the best accuracy, where the receiver basically corrects the frequency
of the signal (the carrier plus the well-known PRN code). Third, the
wave transmission in its three-dimensional form is discussed and how
to deal with this shape mathematically. Fourth, we provide the basic
mathematical methods used to calculate user’s position with the help
of Matlab program. Finally, we focused on how to model a mathematical expression for GPS signal tracking using a phase-locked loop
filter receiver in order to obtain a zero steady state error. Then the
Z-transform is used to build a phase-locked loop in software for digitized data.

Title: Using Markov Chains Model and Decision Tree Classifier to Predict the Behavior of Palestinian Stock Market Prices - Case Study :Paltel
Authors: Awwad, Areej
Abstract: Predicting the behavior of stock market prices has been one of the most
poplular topic interest for researchers due to its complex and dynamic nature. In this
thesis Markov Chains Model and Decision Tree Classifiers applied to forecast and
analyse the behavior of the Palestinian Stock Market prices- case study :Paltel.
For this purpose, 243 days includus the daily opening price, volume and
number of deals covering the period from 2nd January 2019 till 31th December 2019 of
Paltel company were collected from Palestine Exchange .At the beginning the
Markov Chain model was applied depending on the opening price where Markov
Chain model is a probability model depend on transition probability matrix and initial

Development of Mathematical Models for Solar Radiation in Palestine

Title: Development of Mathematical Models for Solar Radiation in Palestine
Authors: Ofie, Sally
Abstract: In this thesis, we investigate several methods for the prediction of solar
energy in the city of Tulkarm-Palestine. These methods include linear
method, nonlinear methods, and Markov chains method. Markov chains
method has been implemented using Matlab, MS Excel program and
manual application.
Numerical results indicate the accuracy of these methods. However,
according to comparison of these methods, we conclude that the Markov
chains method provides more optimal result.
