dc.description.abstract | This study aims to analyze the prevailing and preferred organizational culture by the employees in the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, and to diagnose the cultural gap between the dimensions of each of them, and the requirements for developing that culture to bridge the gap between what is existing and what is hoped for. To achieve this purpose, the descriptive analytical method and the organizational culture assessment tool (OCAI) developed by (Cameron & Quinn) were used as a tool for the study. The tool was distributed to a simple random sample of (103) employees of the aforementioned institution, out of (140) employees who collectively make up the study population. The study concluded that the hierarchical culture is the dominant organizational culture, while the clan culture was the preferred organizational culture among employees. The cultural gap was identified in three dimensions: dominant characteristics, organizational connectedness, and success criteria. The study also concluded that there were no statistically significant differences in the average responses of the study sample members related to the prevailing and preferred organizational culture due to the variables of academic degree and number of years of work experience. The study recommended making interventions and changes in the prevailing hierarchical culture and transforming it towards the preferred clan culture in the dimensions related to organizational connectedness and success criteria, and towards the preferred adhocracy culture in the dominant characteristics dimension. | en_US |
