Abstract: | This study aims to uncover and check the correlation between work ethics and enhancing high school teachers' social responsibility in The Negev. The study used the descriptive approach, which describes and analyzes the phenomenon in reality. The study's society is (980) male and female teachers who work in The Negev. However, the participants of the study were a random sample of (111) female and male high school teachers, the study sample represents 11% of the entire study society. The data was collected through questionnaires. Moreover, the results of the study showed that there is a strong correlation between teachers' social responsibility and the level of teachers' work ethics. In addition, the study shows that teachers' gender, teaching experience play no role in affecting social responsibility and work ethics. In addition, there is a direct relationship between work ethics in all its aspects (work performance, student-teacher relationship, teacher-society relationship) and social responsibility in all its aspects as well as (teacher's responsibility towards students, responsibility towards the school, and responsibility towards society). Nevertheless, the study emphasizes and recommends motivating teachers towards commitment to work ethics through school activities and guiding principles and education supervisors. Also, motivating teachers by financial means as an award for their hard work which in return may boost their motivation to stay committed to work ethics. Finally, the study highlights the chance to enhance teachers' competence through workshops in order to enhance the student-teacher relationship. |
