Abstract: This study aimed to know the reality of preparing school principals in the light of contemporary educational management trends in the directorates of education in the northern governorates of Palestine. To achieve the objective of the study, the analytical descriptive approach was used, where the study tool was developed from six fields (strategic planning, problem solving, crisis management, institutional cohesion, readiness for change, and administrative empowerment), and the study sample consisted of (253) respondents, and the study reached results, the most important of which were: The reality of preparing school principals in light of modern educational management trends in Palestine was high. The results indicated that there were statistically significant differences in the preparation of school principals in Palestine due to the job title variable. The differences were in favor of the principals, and there were no statistically significant differences in the preparation of school principals in Palestine. It is attributed to the variables (gender, qualification, training courses, and years of experience). The study recommends the need to pay attention to formulating and defining the objectives for which the preparation programs for school principals are held, and to work to ensure that these programs achieve their objectives well and to achieve the desired goals by paying attention to administrative matters in the training program and urging principals to respect the schedule of the program, maintain discipline, and submit annual reports on the progress of the program. Training programs for education departments to address any problem that may occur during implementation. The study also recommends the need to pay attention to practical and applied aspects when implementing school principals' preparation programs and to achieve a balance between the theoretical and practical aspects
