Abstract: | This study aimed to aimed to investigate the role of social media in promoting the culture of dialogue (the skills of influence and persuasion, the skills of effective communication) among graduate students at the Palestine Technical University-Kadoorie in its main campus. To achieve this goal, the مجلة جامعة فلسطين التقنية للأبحاث 2024 ،12(2 ،)28-5329researcher used the descriptive-analytical approach to understand the phenomenon under study and extract its characteristics. The researcher relied on the questionnaire as the main tool to collect field data from the target study population of (450)students. After verifying the validity and reliability of the study tool, it was distributed electronically, according to the available random sampling method, and (106)responses were obtained, all of which were subjected to statistical analysis using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The results of the current study showed that Facebook is the preferred social site among the respondents by 37.7%.In addition, the estimates of the study sample of the role of social media in promoting the culture of dialogue (the skills of influence and persuasion, the skills of effective communication) came with a high level of agreement. The study also found that there were no statistically significant differences between the responses of the study variables on the role of social media in promoting the culture of dialogue due to the variables of gender, specialization, and age. The study recommended that the university administration should hold courses and workshops for students to deepen the idea of linking social media with dialogue culture skills, and to raise awareness of the negative cultures |
