Abstract: The study aimed to investigate in level of fear that resulting from learning basic swimming skills among Physical Education students, in addition to determine the difference in the fear among males and females, and the relationship between the level of the fear and students gender. To achieve this, the researcher followed the quasi-experimental method, by using a fear questionnaire associated with learning to swim on a randomly sample included of (67) students, who registered in swimming course (1), and who have no previous experience in swimming. Results of the study showed that the level of fear caused by learning basic swimming skills was a low in mean (1.63), also there is no difference in the level of the fear between males and females, and no significant relationship between the level of the fear and students gender. The researcher recommended to exploit the students' self-confidence arising from learning swimming skills in improving the educational process and increase the effectiveness of swimming lessons in order to increase the scope of practice.
